Now here’s an oddity from me today: Not only am I doing a preview instead of a review, I’m taking a peek at a robot instead of a moe anime female character. I reckon it’s good to get away from the norm every now and then.
E2046, as I’ve mentioned in several past reviews, is an online site specializing in recasts of resin kits. They’ve got a very popular line of pre-painted resin figures called Gathering which recently started doing pre-painted mecha (robots). I’ve been interested in a few of these mecha myself (GURREN LAGANN OH MY GOD) but had to pass due to the prices.
One mecha of interest is this bust of Sazabi from Gundam. The pictures of it look nice enough, but this video shows just what makes this bad boy impressive:
IT MOVES! I expected it to light up, but I never thought it’d actually move around. In fact, I didn’t even know they could make resin kits like this. It’s like having a real adorable little robot for your enjoyment.
Sazabi doesn’t come cheap, sadly: It’ll set you back $559.99 if you pre-order and $629.99 if you buy at release. For those interested, it’s 16.5 inches tall and weighs eight pounds. Check out the pre-order page here for more information and photographs: CLICK HERE
