I’m not really a fan of MMORPG’s, so I’ve honestly got no idea what Mabinogi is all about. Hack n’ slash fantasy, perhaps? Nao is supposedly a guide in the game. Looks like she was popular enough to get the figure treatment. How did the plastic gurus of GoodSmile do this time?
PACKAGING: 8/10
GoodSmile often has good box design.
Looking good so far. Nao comes in a stylish purple and black box, adorned with all sorts of oddly shaped windows.
SCULPT: 8/10
Nao’s there to help all you n00bs adjust to the digital world.
She’s certainly not as captivating as GoodSmile’s recent releases, but she’s not too shabby considering her age. There aren’t really any glaring seam lines on her clothes or body, though she does have a few in her hair.
The lovely flowing skirt.
There’s not too much detail to Nao. Her costume is simple, but the sculptor managed to add some flare by making the back of her dress flow. Her hair sculpt is a little unimpressive, though.
PAINT: 8/10
GoodSmile paint job. That’s really all I need to say about this category.
As expected from a GSC offering, the paint job is…well…good. The way her hair is shaded is a bit weird, but the details on her clothing and the translucency of her dress make up for that.
POSE: 6/10
Nao. Ready for action.
I’m…not really sure what she’s doing in this pose. If anything, it looks like she’s walking towards someone in order to smack them with her staff. I’m sure that’s not what the sculptor intended…
She’s sporting some wicked platform shoes.
Nao comes with an unnecessarily large base that’s identical in color to the one SEIBAAAAAA~ (Saber) came with. Why is the base so big?!
OVERALL: 7/10
You know what they say about “oldies, but goodies”. They’re…um…old, but good. Nao’s age shows a bit, but she’s still a pretty good figure to add to the collection. Also, be sure to check out the new “Succubus” Mabinogi figure, also from GSC.
