NAME: Rin Tohsaka
SERIES: Fate/Stay Night
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/6, by Clayz
RELEASE DATE: July 2005

Had a bit of personal drama, hence the delay in reviews. Now that we’re back in business, let’s take a peek at this particular Rin Tohsaka PVC from Clayz.
PACKAGING: 4/10

Too cheap looking for my tastes.
Well…it’s a box. I guess that’s all it needs to be, right?
SCULPT: 6/10

The legendary tsundere!
Rin’s a pretty old girl, dating all the way back to 2005. Obviously her quality isn’t going to be as fantabulous as more recent releases. She’s not terrible, mind you.
There aren’t really any awful seam lines to be found on her body, though she’s got a few nasty ones plaguing her hair. She’s also pretty heavy, though I’m not sure what that has to do with overall quality. Lulz.
PAINT: 6/10

Wonderfully wavy hair.
Rin’s painted. That’s good. Is she painted well? Yes. There’s no paint bleeding or other jarring errors to be found. Is her paint job eye-catching? No. No shading whatsoever on her sweater and hair, though her skirt and leggings have some. Her skin tone’s also a bit too yellow-ish.
POSE: 8/10

She has to be quite a woman to have a guy like Archer doing her bidding.
I’ve only caught a few glimpses at the Fate franchise, so I’m not entirely sure if this pose is true to Rin’s character or not. Rin seemed to be a pretty commanding AND demanding person, so this pose matches with that. She gives off a “Listen to me or face the consequences” vibe.

Apparently all anime characters in the known universe get their underwear from the same place.
Rin fairs a bit better than Saber in the curves department.

Black, but not sleek…
Rin comes with a massive black platform base. She can actually stand without the base, but she falls over easily. My Rin’s got some slight damage on her sleeve and hair ribbons from one particularly nasty fall…
OVERALL: 7/10
I can overlook a lot of Rin’s flaws thanks to her age. She’s pretty ancient compared to most of my other figures. Her quality isn’t bad, and I’m sure she was a pretty impressive offering back in the early days of the Fate/Stay Night figure rush. She’s not very impressive, and pales in comparison to the other Rin figures out there. For the Fate fanatic, she’s a good buy. For anyone else, you might want to pass.
Also, be warned that this Rin is extremely difficult to find thanks to her age. I was lucky and found mine at a little anime shop in a nearby town.

I thought of getting one to match with my Saber from clayz but i´m totally avoiding 1/6 figures. Two of them are enough to fill a shelf -____- Through she is one of the few pvc of Rin using the original clothes. The others are almost on bikini or that cat cosplay. So is still a fair choice for Rin fans.

Yeah, I’m trying to refrain from getting larger figures thanks to lack of space. I am planning on getting another Detolf shelf soon, so hopefully that’ll help things.
I really liked the ebCraft Rin, but her face was really weird looking. The hair and pose were awesome, though.
