Sara Kodama

NAME: Sara Kodama
SERIES: Overman King Gainer
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/8, by Megahouse
RELEASE DATE: July 2006

I never did get around to watching Overman King Gainer. I did, however, watch the opening animation to it and somewhat enjoyed watching all of the characters do the Monkey. Unfortunately, Sara is not doing the Monkey here…but I guess it’d look a bit ridiculous if she was.

New Project!

Presenting a new visual novel project!

This Is a Terrible Thing: Swanky Penguin Goes On a Journey To Recover His Stolen Hot Dog Companion

It’s a nonsensical tale about a penguin, a mosquito, a strawberry rabbit robot and a floating thing named Pinkleheim. Join this merry band of misfits on a magical journey to save a hot dog from the clutches of an evil, sexually confused teddy bear.

More information coming soon.

In other news, I’ve changed my username. Not that most of you would notice.

Nagi (Death Cloth Version)

NAME: Nagi (Death Cloth Version)
SERIES: Peace@Pieces
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/8, by Alter
RELEASE DATE: January 2007

Alter’s up to bat again with the second girl in their Peace@Pieces line. Today we’ll be looking at the unusually dressed Nagi. Hikaru is pretty epic in terms of quality, so I had high hopes that Nagi would match her.

SERIES: Demonbane
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/8, by Max Factory
RELEASE DATE: March 2006

Hey kids, it’s loli time again. Joining us today is the oddly dressed Al Azif of Demonbane fame. She’s a Max Factory figure, so there’s no worries in the quality department. However, our little lass shows that even experts like Max Factory can drop the ball sometimes.

Nao

NAME: Nao
SERIES: Mabinogi
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/8, by GoodSmile Company
RELEASE DATE: January 2006

I’m not really a fan of MMORPG’s, so I’ve honestly got no idea what Mabinogi is all about. Hack n’ slash fantasy, perhaps? Nao is supposedly a guide in the game. Looks like she was popular enough to get the figure treatment. How did the plastic gurus of GoodSmile do this time?

SERIES: Okusama wa Mahou Shoujo: Bewitched Agnes
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/7, by Max Factory
RELEASE DATE: October 2006

What’s better than a cute, pink-haired magical girl? A sexy, pink-haired magical woman, of course. Say hello to Mrs. Asaba, the humble housewife who is secretly a denizen of a magical society. If that sort of reminds you of Bewitched, good. It should, as it was a major inspiration for this particular anime.

Tear Grants

NAME: Tear Grants
SERIES: Tales of the Abyss
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/8, by Kotobukiya
RELEASE DATE: November 2006

I personally found Tales of the Abyss to be a horribly bland game. Bland graphics, bland story, bland characters, bland music, etc. Tear’s character design is one of the few things I actually liked. (Character-wise, she’s just Chloe Valens 2.0.) Did our old friend Kotobukiya do a good job bringing Tear to the figure world?

Back In Business

Had a bit of a crisis this week, hence the lack of updates. I’m glad to announce I’m officially back in business…for both figurines and visual novel work.

VN work’s been down in the dumps ever since my two previous tablets bit the dust. Now armed with a shiny new Wacom tablet, I’m ready to start working like crazy again. Look forward to more updates…eventually.
