Etna was my very first venture into the world of expensive pvc figures and I certainly chose an excellent figure to get started with. She is one of my favorites from Disgaea and this is the best portrayal of her so far in the figure world.

SCULPT: 9/10

Etna’s quality is extremely good. With the exception of her hair the figure is near perfect. There are a few seam lines on the body but they are extremely faint and you won’t see them unless you are really really trying. There are only a few minor flubs in her hair. Some seam lines and also the way her bangs connect to the rest of her hair looks a little strange but thats only if you are looking at her from above or behind.

Her wings and her tail all come as separate pieces that you have to attach to her. They stay in good I’ve never had one fall off and I was afraid her tail wouldn’t stay in place good but I’ve had no problems with it.

PAINT: 8/10

Etna’s paintjob is pretty solid but it does have some flubs. Mostly around her bra thingy. Around the pointy parts and the sides its not fully painted. It doesn’t stand out too bad but it is noticeable. I really love the shiny paint they used for her costume even though the color is off a little bit compared to her video game appearance.

The glossy finish looks a bit weird on the beige part of her skirt. It kind of has a crusty look to it. It looks fine on her boots and wings (though glossy wings is a bit odd but it looks nice).

POSE: 10/10

I really like Etna’s pose. Its somewhat simple but very cute and it fits her pretty well. I like how she is holding her tail also. Her base is a thick black stone lookin’ thing with thick pegs that keep her very stable.

OVERALL: 9/10

Etna is a very nice offering from Max Factory. Its a real shame they didn’t make any of the other Disgaea characters as well though. Even though Etna was my first figure she remains the highest quality figure I’ve got so far. If you can still find this figure somewhere I highly recommend it.
