Saber (Holiday Version)

NAME: Saber (Holiday Version)
SERIES: Fate/Hollow Ataraxia
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/6, by GoodSmile Company
RELEASE DATE: October 2006

Back when I started collecting, the figure world was going through a Fate/Stay Night craze. It seems like everyone was pumping out figures of Saber, Rin, and the other Fate girls. I had no idea where to start! A visit to a little figure store in Orlando fixed that problem by introducing me to this lovely incarnation of Saber.

Hazuki

NAME: Hazuki
SERIES: Tsukuyomi ~ Moon Phase
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/8, by Alter
RELEASE DATE: November 2006

I do believe Hazuki is the first true loli to grace us with her presence on EBW. She hails from the manga/anime series Moon Phase. I’ve never read the manga, but the anime was about as standard as anime gets. Hazuki fills the role of ’spoiled vampire princess’, though she looks relatively cute and harmless in figure form.

OS Idol Win-chan (Version 2.0)

NAME: OS Idol Win-chan (Version 2.0)
SERIES: N/A
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/7, by Kaiyodo
RELEASE DATE: November 2006

No figure collection is complete without at least one bikini girl. However, I find most swimsuit figures to be horribly boring, and have absolutely no idea why they’re so popular. Win-chan’s curvy body, stylish blue bikini and absurd hairstyle managed to pique my interest enough to warrant a pre-order.

Ignis

NAME: Ignis
SERIES: Jingai Makyo
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/7, by Max Factory
RELEASE DATE: October 2006

Lo and behold the red-headed beauty who not only stole my heart, but also got me dragged into this addictive world of PVC collecting. I had collected gashapons in the past and swore never to buy the big, expensive figures. One look at Ignis, however, changed my opinion.

Feena Fam Earthlight

NAME: Feena Fam Earthlight
SERIES: Brighter Than Dawning Blue
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/8, by Kotobukiya
RELEASE DATE: August 2006

Brighter Than Dawning Blue ~ Crescent Love is a terrible, terrible anime. Feena, however, is quite a beauty and extremely hard to resist in figure form. Honestly, though, don’t watch the show. QUALITY Cabbage alone is not worth having to sit through that rubbish.

Simca

NAME: Simca
SERIES: AIR GEAR
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/8, by MegaHouse
RELEASE DATE: September 2006

Today brings us yet another of Oh! Great’s busty beauties, with this one being my personal favorite. Known as Simca the Swallow, this pink haired hottie from AIR GEAR isn’t afraid to flaunt her body. Her carefree but masterful skills on skates are initially what drives the story’s protagonist, Ikki, to take up “Air Trek” (Extreeeeeeme roller blading) himself.

Aya Natsume

NAME: Aya Natsume
SERIES: Tenjho Tenge
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/8, by Kaiyodo
RELEASE DATE: September 2005

Oh! Great…people seem to have a serious love/hate relationship with this guy. On one hand, his stories are a convoluted mess. On the other hand, his artwork quality is through the roof. If there’s one thing Oh! Great is good at, it’s designing some pretty hot girls. Aya Natsume from Tenjho Tenge is one of his more famous girls.

Hikaru (Death Cloth Version)

NAME: Hikaru
SERIES: Peace @ Pieces
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/8, by Alter
RELEASE DATE: July 2006

Kids shouldn’t play with guns…

Released by Alter back in mid-2006, Hikaru remains one of their finest offerings to date. She originates from an eroge called “Peace @ Pieces” which I know absolutely nothing about, aside from the fact that it features artwork from famed artist Noizi Ito (Shakugan no Shana, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya).

Flonne

NAME: Flonne
SERIES: Disgaea
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/8, by Kotobukiya
RELEASE DATE: July 2006

The Innocent Assassin
Those giant apples sure look good.

For every Etna there must be a Flonne, so here’s a Flonne review to put you Disgaea fans at peace. The poor girl doesn’t get anywhere near as much love as Etna. Kotobukiya makes up for the lack of Flonne love with this charming little PVC…that is, sadly, not the same scale as Max Factory’s Etna! (So much for displaying them together…)

Etna

NAME: Etna
SERIES: Disgaea
SCALE/CREATOR: 1/7, by Max Factory
RELEASE DATE: May 2006

Etna was my very first venture into the world of expensive pvc figures and I certainly chose an excellent figure to get started with. She is one of my favorites from Disgaea and this is the best portrayal of her so far in the figure world.
